So many of us pet owners love to take our pup to Starbucks and get them a Pup Cup. We humans look forward to the pumpkin spice lattes all year and it is so fun to include our dogs in on the fun. Melanie Fox, the owner of Homegrown Hounds, a holistic dog food company based in Dallas created this pumpkin “puppuccino”. “Dogs just can’t get enough of it!” she says. It is made with yogurt, goat milk and pumpkin. Whip up a cup for your pup this holiday season or any time of the year.
Pumpkin Pup Cups
Makes 4
1 ½ cups nonfat plain Greek yogurt
1 cup goat milk (human-grade; or use reconstituted powdered goat milk)
1 tablespoon canned pure pumpkin
Carob powder or ground cinnamon, for dusting
1. Mix together the yogurt and goat milk in a bowl (do not overmix). Divide the mixture between 2 bowls.
2. Carefully whisk the pumpkin into one bowl and set aside. Use a handheld frother to fluff up the yogurt mixture in the second bowl until it’s as frothy as possible, about 15 seconds. If you don’t have a handheld frother you can substitute a whisk or a jar with a tight-fitting lid and shake vigorously.
3. Pour the pumpkin mixture into cups, about halfway full. Slowly pour the yogurt mixture on top. Sprinkle with carob powder or cinnamon and serve immediately.
Positive Paws BHC wants to wish you and your family Joy, Love and Peace this holiday season.
